This open plan kitchen and dining room really is 'the heart' of The Elms holiday home. It's large, light and airy space extends from the front to the back of the property. There are ample cupboards for storing your food and lots of worktop surfaces for preparing meals together. We have provided guests with a well equipped kitchen with large cooking pots and pans for bigger groups staying together.
Our self-catering kitchen includes a large electric range cooker and hob, ideal for cooking in big quantities.
A microwave/combi oven and undercounter fridge.
For those guest not wanting to stand at the kitchen sink we also provide a dishwasher.
There is a separate utility room with washing machine and fridge freezer.

High ceilings and traditional, decorative fireplace adorns our dining room giving it a touch of splendour. Being open plan it allows for those guests cooking or washing up not to miss out on guest interactions.
Our bespoke table top was made by a local carpenter here in Shillingford. Ensuring all guests are able to sit round comfortably

Our bespoke table top was made by a local carpenter here in Shillingford. Ensuring all guests are able to sit round comfortably and eat a lovely meal together. Lovely rich red leather chairs compliment the traditional look and feel of the dining space.
Ample crockery, cutlery and glasses available for guests to show off all their culinary skills.
The dining room sits to the front of The Elms holiday home with the hot tub just outside this window and views across the Devon valley.
For those guests not wanting to cook or for that special celebration we can highly recommended some local fine dining companies who will do all the hard work for you whilst you relax.

Our separate lounge area also on the ground floor allows guests further space to spill out.
A decorative ceiling rose, high ceilings and large paintings gives that little touch of opulence to our lounge area.
The lounge also sits to the front of the property and has views across the Devon countryside.

Our delightful wood burning stove holds centre stage and wonderfully enticing to cosy in front of on those cold Autumn and Winter months. Logs are cut by ourselves from our own supply of trees here on our farm in Shillingford. For the duration of your stay a supply of wood and kindling stored in a metal dustbin outside the backdoor is available for lighting the lounge wood burner. And extra wood always available should you run out.
A 55 inch flat screen, smart tv, has been fitted over the fireplace allowing for extra seating and floor space. Guests can relax on the comfy sofas and watch their favourite movies.

Entrance into our holiday home and guest accessibility.
Our back door is also the main entrance into The Elms Holiday Home. Here you will find our lock box and key on your arrival.
On entering the property there is a lovely porch area to hang coats and locally made wooden shoe rack for muddy footwear.
A small step leads guests into our utility room with fridge freezer, sink and washing machine. When weather doesn't allow for clothes to be hung outside, we have provided a traditional airer.
Also located in the utility area is a newly installed ground floor toilet for guests convenience.
Another small step takes guests onto our ground floor hall, with doors leading guests into our separate open kitchen/dining room and lounge.
Accessibility for guests staying in our holiday home.
There is a stone staircase leading down to the cellar/games room which is covered in lovely flag stone flooring. The Elms holiday home drive is stone chipped. You are able to park outside the back door to drop of any guest that finds the extra few steps difficult.
There are a few small steps to negotiate on the ground floor.
The doors leading off the hallway into the lounge and open dining room/kitchen are big.
The front door out onto the front garden and hot tub area also large but has a couple of steps to negotiate down onto the patio.
