Unwind the minute you arrive.

 This open plan kitchen and dining room really is 'the heart' of The Elms holiday home. It's large, light and airy space extends from the front to the back of the property. There are ample cupboards for storing your food and lots of worktop surfaces for preparing meals together. We have provided guests with a well equipped kitchen with large cooking pots and pans for bigger groups staying together.  

Our self-catering kitchen includes a large electric range cooker and hob, ideal for cooking in big quantities. 

A microwave/combi oven and undercounter fridge.

For those guest not wanting to stand at the kitchen sink we also provide a dishwasher.

For those smaller guests we can supply 2 high chairs.

There is a separate utility room with washing machine and fridge freezer.

High ceilings and traditional, decorative fireplace grace our dining room giving it a touch of splendour. Created by myself large wall art of our beautiful Exmoor, offers guests with some welcome ideas of places to visit during their stay. Giving a splash of autumnal colour and point of interest. Being open plan it allows for those guests cooking or washing up not to miss out on guest interactions.  

Our bespoke table top was made by a local carpenter here in Shillingford. Ensuring all guests are able to sit round comfortably and eat a lovely meal together. Lovely rich red leather chairs compliment the traditional look and feel of the dining space.  

Ample crockery, cutlery and glasses available for guests to show off all their culinary skills.  

The dining room sits to the front of The Elms holiday home with the hot tub just outside this window and views across the Devon valley.

For those guests not wanting to cook or for that special celebration we can highly recommended some local fine dining companies who will do all the hard work for you whilst you relax.

Our separate lounge area also on the ground floor allows guests further space to spill out.  

Beautifully distinctive and timeless pieces of Chesterfield furniture adorns the lounge, adding to the sense of sophistication and grandeur that The Elms emanates. Fashioned in relaxed, soft to touch charcoal grey fabric, exudes comfort whilst incorporating a contemporary classic element to a timeless piece of craftsmanship.  

A decorative ceiling rose, high ceilings and large paintings gives that little touch of opulence to our lounge area.

The lounge also sits to the front of the property and has views across the Devon countryside.

Our delightful wood burning stove holds centre stage and wonderfully enticing to cosy in front of on those cold Autumn and Winter months. Logs are cut by ourselves from our own supply of trees here on our farm in Shillingford. For the duration of your stay a supply of wood and kindling stored in a metal dustbin outside the backdoor is available for lighting the lounge wood burner. And extra wood always available should you run out. 

A 55 inch flat screen, smart tv, has been fitted over the fireplace allowing for extra seating and floor space. Guests can relax on the comfy sofas and watch their favourite movies.
